Every Wednesday, Shane Nixon wears orange. Let’s come back to that in a minute.
Shane has been a NC Baptist all his life. In fact, it would be fair to say that the Baptist Church has dominated Shane’s life.
- Public profession of faith in Salem Baptist Church, Dobson, NC, at 9 years old.
- Attended Baptist youth camp (Caswell), RA Camp (Caraway), and various other Baptist related things for the entirety of his youth
- Worked for, graduated from, and has served on the (various) boards of Campbell University
- 7+ years as webminister and technology coach for Baptist State Convention of NC
- Ordained as both deacon and minister by FBC Burlington
- 3+ years as Chief Information Officer for Baptist Children’s Homes of NC
- 2+ years as Director of Church/Community Relations, Baptist Retirement Homes of NC
Being a Baptist Christian is all he knows!
When God called Shane into vocational ministry some 13 years ago, no one could have predicted that being a pastor of a local church was in his future, least of all Shane. But since hearing the call to such, here at FBC Mocksville back in March of 2011, nothing has seemed more natural. God was and is in this there is no doubt.
Being married to his college sweetheart and being dad to his daughter and son take up most of his "outside church" time.
