So you went with the FBC Mocksville group to Caswell . . . it was AMAZING.
Now you are home and summer has officially started . . . BORED yet?
If you are like most people I know who have gone to Caswell, you come back at the height of all that is good with the world. In religious circles (and sometimes beyond) we call these experiences, ones like a week at Caswell, "mountain top" experiences.
You will have no trouble finding them, no trouble periodically going to/on them. Even understanding the programming, which we might refer to as "climbing the mountain", is pretty easy. Basically you just show up, whatever the programming is, it is good enough that by simply being there you get that top of the mountain feeling!
There are many things planned for you, as FBC Youth, already this summer. You may want to check out the youth page of the new FBC website to connect with those.
But what about between those times and what about now? How can you keep the positive momentum of such a thing as Caswell going? Well how about a challenge?
We have identified a free Youth Discipleship resource (resource provided by The Disciple Project) that we think can help keep you on the mountain top. The resource is free, and that means there are a couple of "promotional ads" for the group providing it at the end, but you can just be aware that those are there and move on.
The challenge is three fold:
- Get back from Caswell safely! Receive and e-mail from the youth listserve, pointing you to this challenge. Read this page and download the material. (That was like three steps in one, SORRY! But if you are at this point, two of them are done!)
- Begin the devotional. It is easy to do, and you won’t have any questions I am sure. (if you do, see step three!)
- Make an appointment with Shane and talk with him about your Caswell experience and the quest to stay on the mountain top.
If you complete all three, you win a cool prize. No, it isn’t a hug from Shane, though that is also available, it is a LEGITIMATE, real, something everybody will want, prize!

Staying on top of the mountain is not easy and it is not inevitable, that is it will not just happen. But being close to God, retaining that sense of closeness can happen, and we want to help you make sure it does!
