The 2011 FBC Mocksville Softball team is having a ball.
The team finshed the regular season in fourth place, and at 7-7 for the year.
The team advanced to the second round of the tournament before losing and finishing the season in full!

Also, below are the thoughts of one of our team, Mike Williams, as they relate to the tournament and the season!
PLAAAYYY BALLLLL!!!
Thursday July 21st the church softball league tournament started with a bang. Before we get into the tournament my first thought and prayer is that Will (catcher at the time) is doing ok today.
Will had a ball foul tip off his Left eye last night. (Update -- as of 7/23 Will seems fine. He has a shiner, but he is fine!) Before the game I had a chance to warm up with Shane’s son Jack he told me his favorite position is short stop and catcher. The future for FBCM softball team is bright.
To the tournament
Across town in Smith Grove, Advance First Baptist defeated Bethlehem United Methodist otherwise known as the “BUMS”. The 7 pm game at center featured your First Baptist Church Mocksville vs Farmington First Baptist. FBCM battled back several times with great hitting great base running and strong pitching from Shane but was unable to win the first game of the tournament sending us into the losers bracket. The 8 PM game Featured Elbaville vs Blaise Baptist. This was a heated battle with lots of hitting but Elbaville came out and advanced to the winner’s bracket. The last game of the night in Center featured Liberty vs society. Received an email from a friend of mine that attends Advance First Baptist that said it was the game of the night and I should have stayed to watch. Liberty was down by as much as 5 or more runs and came back to win advancing them into the winners bracket sending society down into the losers bracket. Just like many games this year we have been down and battled back the same thing can happen in this tournament. It’s not over till the fat lady sings and I know that we can battle back and make some noise to the end. Next Tuesday the tournament continues 7 pm at Smith Grove Advance takes on Farmington. At center First Baptist Mocksville takes on Bethlehem at 7pm. The 8pm game at center is Blaise vs Society and the nite cap at 9pm features Liberty vs Elbaville.
